Przegląd projektu
Site: A farm in the desert
Date: March 2019
Location: Suez Province, Egypt
Industry: Agricultural Irrigation, Fruit Tree Irrigation
Project scope: To develop a new series of solar pumps with the help of VEICHI solar pump drives
VEICHI deliveries: Solar PV module array, SI23 solar pump drive, a motor
Project Introduction
In March 2019, Veichi SI23-D5 series 15kW solar water pumping system was successfully installed in Egypt. The project was invested by the local government for irrigating farmland.
The challenge:
The problem of energy and water sources is one of the most important issues many countries are faced with. Around more than 30% agricultural pumps are not available to connect with grid electricity due to poor power facilities. And 50% farms cannot get well irrigated because of poor water conservancy infrastructure. Nowadays the cost of diesel is rapidly increasing,so the cost of maintenance on diesel generator pump system is very high. It is urgent and important to find a sustainable way for agricultural irrigation.
The solution:
Solar powered water pump technology is a very good solution to agricultural irrigation. The system consists of 17kW solar array,15kW pump inverter and 11kw pump and provides 25m³ /h water for irrigation.
